Shaving and scalping dies

Shaving and scalping dies are used to remove cinder and impurities off rods, or to remove damages or drawing errors on drawn wire. The aim of the so called shaving or scalping is always an improvement of the wire material surface. This requires a peeling tool, which is coordinated to the he whole process. Correct choice of carbide grade and accurate execution of the tool geometry are indispensable for correct function.

Shape and design of the scalping dies are depending on the requirements of the user. Therefore those are produced according to customer drawing.

To increase the service life different coatings are possible depending on the application.
